Art    Barthulha Webs Artist Camp 2-4th August

2013 The long and the short...... Barthulha Webs began in 2008 as the brain child of Jayne Nankivell and Adrienne Kneebone. Barthulha Webs was created from a need in the community to provide residents of the Katherine Region an opportunity to spend the weekend learning new art techniques and exchanging artistic ideas and skills. The project is aimed at women ( but not exclusive to ) living in remote areas. Barthulha Webs offers workshops in lino printing, weaving, paper making and dyeing with natural dyes. Barthulha Webs aims in no particular order to give women access to an arts gathering , to create oppurtunities for Indigneous artists to be tutors and to build a strong weaving and printing focus in the Katherine Region. Five weavers, two print makers, two paper makers and a fabric dyer will be running a program of workshops over two evenings and three days.
